| Create a garden entirely over structure at The Keyhole at the World Trade Center that accommodates the pedestrian and vehicular passage between the two wings of the
World Trade Center.
| The design focuses on a pedestrian-oriented space at the end of the long vehicular axis, retaining the basic structure of the World Trade Center and its traditional flags. The terminus is anchored by a floating green granite wall, which functions as a counterpoint to annual changes in color. The remaining portion of the space is defined by a low granite-faced planter with a custom mahogany seat. This planter, and others strategically placed along the boulevard, is filled with a mixture of River Birch, evergreen and deciduous plant material, ornamental grasses and groundcovers. The prime objective was to provide year round interest as a backdrop for the numerous photographs taken in
the area.
