| Develop schematic plans for a 3.5-mile pedestrian-friendly trail that originates at Ruggles Station and connects to lower Roxbury, South Boston, the South End, Chinatown, and Fort Point Channel to terminate at Fan Pier. In addition to linking these inland neighborhoods to each other, the bicycle path provides access to the waterfront and the Boston Harbor Islands National Park area.
| The South Bay Harbor Trail is a project of Save the Harbor/Save the Bay's Campaign for the Water's Edge and the South Bay Harbor Trail Coalition, a city-wide collaboration of public and private stakeholders. It provides a safe and viable trail system that offers users an inviting experience and proves convenient ways of reaching Boston destinations. The universally-accessible trail design supports simultaneous outdoor activities and accommodates multiple forms of travel. The trail forms a vital link in the city’s greenway connecting trails from the Southwest Corridor to the new Central Artery Park. | Save the Harbor Save the Bay
