| Two key outdoor spaces, the Administration Circle and Gannett Quadrangle, were transformed as part of a new initiative to revitalize the campus. The new design creates a primarily pedestrian-oriented environment that also addresses all vehicular needs, without the long-standing domination of automobiles. Pressley Associates collaborated with Rochester sculptor Albert Paley, to carefully locate Sentinel, a 73’ high Cor-Ten steel and titanium sculpture.
| Dedicated in the fall 2003, the new Gannett Quadrangle integrates the adjacent buildings into the campus and provides a more pleasant and functional environment for the RIT community. The Palely sculpture dramatically announces the campus entrance at the student center and the Quarter Mile walkway. This project was awarded the 2004 American School and University Design Award. | Rochester Institute of Technology
