| Kenmore Square, in Boston’s historic Back Bay, is currently undergoing a revival; Pressley Associates is proud to be a part of this new direction. The MBTA train and bus facilities were approved for a major upgrade, resulting in the opportunity to re-evaluate and redesign the landscape elements within the Square.
| The highlights of the Kenmore Square redesign are improvements to pedestrian walks leading to Boston University and Fenway Park, and vehicular routes where three major roadways converge. The landscape compliments the new glass bus shelter, with elements such as trees, brick sidewalks, decorative paved intersections, new street lighting, and landscaped medians. Landscape materials were carefully studied and selected since the new landscape will be the western terminus of the historic Commonwealth Avenue Mall, with its graceful trees and iron and granite fencing. Currently this project is under construction. | DiMella Shaffer for the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority
