| Cleveland Heights and East Cleveland together selected a multidisciplinary team headed by Marion Pressley to develop a plan that respected the historic master plan for the park, while supporting the passive and active recreation required by contemporary users.
| Originally owned by John D. Rockefeller, Jr., Forest Hill was his first experiment with carriage drives, which he later incorporated into his Carriage Road System at Acadia National Park, Maine. It was laid out according to a Master Plan produced in 1938 by local landscape architect A.D. Taylor. The park subsequently suffered from years of neglect, a shift in park user needs, and political issues, which easily arise when city lines bisect public parks. The two cities that jointly own the park agreed on the goals of the rehabilitation project. By building consensus amongst the park's constituency, Pressley Associates developed a new Master Plan that also included historical research, inventory and analysis, proposed treatment and an action plan. | Cities of East Cleveland & Cleveland Heights, OH
