| Pressley Associates created a Master Plan, Management and Maintenance Plan and an Action Plan for the historic 80-acre Allegheny Commons.
| Allegheny Commons is the oldest park in Pittsburgh and recognized as a significant historic and community asset. Set aside in the 1700s as common grazing land for the new town of Allegheny, in the 1860s it became one of the earliest public parks in the region, with walkways, fountains, monuments, shade trees and ornamental plantings. Pressley Associates' proposals recover the historical integrity of the Commons and bring it back to full viability as a neighborhood resource. Treatment recommendations include improvements to circulation and access, re-establishing historic planting, and changes to the way public events are managed on the site. The project received the Historic Preservation Award from the City of Pittsburgh Historic
