 | Located in the heart of the biotech capital of Cambridge, the first floor of 7 Cambridge Center is anchored to the Kendal Square streetscape by a bi-level museum space. The smartly-articulated building façade sits on a traditional brick sidewalk, except where the interior floor emerges under the glass into the public realm. This planar treatment introduces a bosque of four trees positioned in a grass carpet. The formal entry is the arrival court and the introduction to a more private courtyard created in leftover space between buildings. The design of this courtyard focused on comfort, scale, quality of material, and a diverse plant palette emphasizing shade tolerant species.
