Lauren is experienced in all aspects of historic landscape preservation, including historical research, existing conditions inventory and evaluation, National Register evaluation, and preparation of treatment plans. In 1989, Lauren founded the National Park Service’s Historic Landscape Initiative in Washington D.C. to develop national standards and guidelines for the treatment of historic landscapes. Her work has been published in many peer-review journals including the APT Bulletin, The Public Garden, Courier, CRM Bulletin and Arnoldia.
